Let Me Have a Direct Conversation with You My People
Especially the conscious and unconscious Nigerian youths reading this. There’s an underlying and undeniable type of power we wedge that many of us don’t realize. A power so strong but undetected, yet we dey carry am like say e no matter, like say we get another lifetime.
Let’s go back a bit. When Nigeria got independence in 1960, the people who carried the vision for this country were young. Men like Yakubu Gowon became Head of State at just 31. Murtala Muhammed took over at 37. They were far from perfect and merely youths in military, but one thing was evident, they shouldered more responsibilities than the current Nigerian youths would envisage, they dared to change the polity and leadership while believing in a cause.
Today? The same youths of yesterday are holding the youths of today back. Na old cargo full everywhere, imperialistic policies which resulted into recycled failures. But they forget say the real engine of this country is we the Youths.
🧓🏾 Back Then, It Was Young Minds That Moved Nigeria
Before and after independence, the vision to move Nigeria forward was carried by bold, young men. Gowon ruled during Nigeria’s darkest moment (the Civil War) and held this country together at age 31. So make nobody tell you say you’re too young to lead, or say "na experience matter." Abeg, which experience old people get wey no bring us enter this mess?

🙄 Today, the youths are treated as inconsequential when making decisions that affects our very future 120 million Nigerian youths yet look around. Na who dey make decisions? Who dey share our commonwealth? Who dey design our future without us? Instead, dem go tag us lazy. Say we no get patience.
But who dey run the tech scene? Who dey carry music, fashion, and creativity for head? Na we! Still, dem dey bench us like say we be reserve players for our own country. 🧠
This Power, We Must Use Am Now
I’m not here to talk violence. I’m talking about strategic awakening. A bloodless revolution that starts with your mind and ends with your action. See, the biggest fear of the people in power is not protest. It’s unity. It's when we begin to think together, act together, and vote together. That’s the real revolution.
They fear an informed youth population. That’s why dem dey distract us with tribe, religion, fake narratives. But hear me now: poverty no know tribe. Suffer no dey respect religion.

- Stop waiting for a hero. Be the one.
- Start with your circle, educate them.
- Forget influencers. Find reformers among yourselves.
- Support candidates with sense and sincerity, not clout.
- Take the money but vote your conscience.
- Use your social media to awaken minds, not just do skits and gossip.
- Join movements like CYCN because here, we no dey just talk; we move.

Listen we are the power they’re afraid to use. But if we continue to ignore it, they’ll keep using us instead.
