Na We Be the Future: Why the Youth Must Rise Now
There’s a saying we hear all the time in Nigeria: "The youth are the leaders of tomorrow." But for how long we go dey hear that one? Tomorrow don turn next week, next month, next election and still, nothing dey change unless we rise and make am change.
With over 70% of Nigeria’s population under the age of 30 (National Bureau of Statistics, 2023), our country no get any future without its youth. The strength, creativity, and resilience of Nigerian youth is our biggest national resource more than oil, more than gold. But if we no rise now, we go waste this powerful generation.
Why Now? Because the Clock Don Dey Tick
- We are the Majority: Nigeria get over 150 million young people. Imagine if only 10% of us take action in our communities, e go shake everywhere.
- The System no dey Work for Us: High unemployment, bad roads, weak health care, and wahala education system na the youth dey suffer pass.
- We’ve Waited Long Enough: Our parents waited. Them still dey wait. We no fit follow that pattern. Waiting never fix anything action dey fix am.

- In Enugu, one group of boys dey fix community boreholes by crowdfunding online. No NGO. No government.
